Duties and responsibilities:
- Hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates AP team members to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
- Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Oversees daily tasks of team members and ensures quality of work.
- Manages the resolution of issues escalated from team members
- Builds and maintains relationships with other teams inside of the company.
- Responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
- Manages monthly closing of AP financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements
- Responsible for quality of work product and all job tasks assigned to team.
- Assist with bank account reconciliations and resolution of payment discrepancies.
- Analyze payment trends to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure payments are in compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and SOX requirements.
- Sets objectives for the AP team that align with the accounting department’s goals
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual ad-hoc reports
- Develops, implements, improves, and enforces AP departmental policies, procedures, and controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Responsible for communicating process changes, company changes, etc. to the team
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audits
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years related experience and/or training preferred
- Microsoft Great Plains and Concur Experience (Preferred)
- Strong MS Excel skills including vlookups, tables and pivot charts, and ability to analyze data.
- Must process large amounts of data accurately and completely. Attention to detail is critical in this role and errors must be minimal and inconsequential
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent mathematical skills
- Strong supervisory skills and high integrity and work ethic
- Must be familiar working in a high-volume processing.
- Accounting degree preferred
