Duties and responsibilities:

• Hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates AP team members to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
• Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
• Oversees daily tasks of team members and ensures quality of work.
• Manages the resolution of issues escalated from team members
• Builds and maintains relationships with other teams inside of the company.
• Responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
• Manages monthly closing of AP financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements
• Responsible for quality of work product and all job tasks assigned to team.
• Assist with bank account reconciliations and resolution of payment discrepancies.
• Analyze payment trends to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure payments are in compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and SOX requirements.
• Sets objectives for the AP team that align with the accounting department’s goals
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual ad-hoc reports
• Develops, implements, improves, and enforces AP departmental policies, procedures, and controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Responsible for communicating process changes, company changes, etc. to the team
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audits
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years related experience and/or training preferred
• Microsoft Great Plains and Concur Experience (Preferred)
• Strong MS Excel skills including vlookups, tables and pivot charts, and ability to analyze data.
• Must process large amounts of data accurately and completely. Attention to detail is critical in this role and errors must be minimal and inconsequential
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have excellent mathematical skills
• Strong supervisory skills and high integrity and work ethic
• Must be familiar working in a high-volume processing.
• Accounting degree preferred
